Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way we live, learn, and work both now and in the future.
Wide-scale adoption of AI is also changing the definition of what is needed for a computationally literate workforce. Our students are  the next generation of AI users, decision makers, and innovators. It is imperative that all students engage in high quality K-12 AI education to help them understand how these technologies work, evaluate their societal impacts, and make ethical and responsible decisions with AI. Achieving this goal requires strategic initiatives and funding at the state and district levels as well as grassroot efforts from teachers. We must all do our part in this educational ecosystem to build the needed infrastructure and opportunities for students and teachers to learn AI.  This talk will introduce the 5 Big Ideas in AI, the AI4K12 Initiative, and resources for teaching AI in K-12. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of the roles AI plays in our everyday lives, ideas and tools for integrating AI into classroom instruction, and next steps.
